Designs for a new pop band of the Berlin music industry.

I had the exciting challenge of creating the visual identity for Driftings, a Berlin pop group, starting with minimal assets and a limited budget. My goal was to design a flexible, efficient system for producing visuals for their singles using simple, reusable graphics, AI-generated imagery, and free-to-use images.

The end result is a lo-fi, pop, and sexy aesthetic—sometimes summery, other times darker and gritty, mirroring Berlin’s raw vibe. With CRT glitch effects, layered scan techniques, and a distinct color scheme, I crafted a recognizable look that reflects both the band’s energy and the city’s spirit.

For Driftings’ logo, I used scan techniques on bold, sans-serif fonts to capture a drifting, fluid motion that aligns with the band’s name. Vertical and horizontal shifts create a raw, lo-fi aesthetic that’s simple yet impactful, echoing both the energy of their music and Berlin’s gritty vibe.

Chokola Mint Krèm Glacé first single, released Aug. 30th, 2024

The first cover for Driftings captures a playful, summery vibe, evoking flirtation and carefree vacation energy. With bold, pop-inspired colors, the design shows two women—one from the Caribbean—leaning close as if about to kiss, adding a warm, inclusive touch to the visual. This imagery sets the tone for Driftings’ unique sound, blending vibrant aesthetics with a sense of connection and openness, perfect for the feel of summer.

Love Me Tinder second single, released Nov. 18th, 2024

The second single cover for Driftings delves into themes of loops, alienation, fleeting flings, and one-night stands, all set against an industrial backdrop. The design uses gritty, muted tones to convey a sense of repetition and detachment, capturing the darker side of modern romance. This stark visual contrasts with the playful first single, highlighting Driftings' exploration of complex, transient connections within an urban landscape.
