Exploring the depths of Berlin:
a gritty black and white
photo documentary.
Infundibulum
Infundibulum is an ongoing project documenting the vibrant nights of Berlin since 2013. Through high-grain, high-contrast photographs primarily captured on analog film, I portray the essence of the city's nightlife. The images, presented as diptychs and single shots, capture a sense of disorientation, abandonment, and the perceived wastefulness of time as the city indulges in endless parties and revelry. In this environment, where competition takes a backseat, the thrill of freedom becomes contagious. Berlin encapsulates the paradoxical nature of urban life, where towering steel and glass structures engulf individuals, leaving them fragmented in their wake. Embracing the spirit of Dada, Infundibulum signifies a future without boundaries.
Infundibulum, a title whispered with enigmatic allure, unveils the hidden depths of this project. It embodies a passage into the nocturnal abyss, where time slips away and reality blurs. It is a journey through the tangled streets, where the ordinary dissipates, leaving only fragmented moments, intoxicating connections, and the lingering thrill of the unknown.
